ASD, VSD & PDA Closure

Closing abnormal heart openings through a minimally invasive catheter procedure.

Overview

These structural defects create abnormal shunting of blood between heart chambers or vessels. Using a closure device delivered through a sheath, we seal the defect percutaneously — avoiding open-heart surgery, with excellent cosmetic and recovery outcomes.

Procedure Details

  • Echocardiographic and angiographic sizing of the defect.
  • Amplatzer-style occluder devices tailored to each anatomy.
  • Real-time imaging confirmation of complete closure.
  • Follow-up echocardiography to verify device stability and function.
  • Secundum atrial septal defect (ASD) with suitable anatomy.
  • Selected ventricular septal defects (VSD).
  • Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in children and adults.
  • Significant shunts leading to volume overload or symptoms.
