Overview
Rota-ablation uses a high-speed diamond-tipped burr to shave and pulverize severely calcified plaque that balloons and stents cannot cross or expand. The pulverized particles pass harmlessly through the bloodstream, creating a smooth channel for subsequent balloon and stent therapy.
Procedure Details
- Rotational atherectomy with a high-speed diamond burr.
- IVUS and pressure-wire assessment of the calcified segment.
- Saline flush and controlled passes for maximal safety.
